About 2,000 Breakouts are taxed in the UK, split evenly between the 2013–2017 bike and the 2018-on one. The catalogue splits them a second time, and it catches people out: from 2020 to 2022 the Breakout was sold only as the 114, so those years are not on this page.

What crosses 2018, and what doesn’t

Harley moved the Breakout onto the new Softail frame for 2018. Across the two generations we list 827 genuine parts and only 383 fit both. No wheel, tyre, seat or sissy bar part crosses the line, and three of the 101 Screamin’ Eagle parts do. One windscreen does: the Quick-Release Super Sport, 57301-06.

Wheels and the 240 rear

Each generation has its own 21-inch front wheel and neither fits anything but a Breakout: the black 10-spoke 43300210 for 2013–2017, the Seismic 43300597 for 2018 on. The Seismic 18-inch rear wheel, 40900574, is shared with the Fat Boy. Both Seismic wheels need their own installation kit: 42400033 or 42400034 at the front, 42400035 or 42400036 at the rear. The genuine rear tyre for the 2018-on bike is the 240/40R18 Michelin Scorcher, 43189-11.

Bars, risers and forward controls

The genuine handlebar choice is two Fused bars, 55801029 and 55801059, and both are shared with the Fat Boy and the Road King. The range here is aftermarket: more than 500 handlebars and 300 risers against a handful of genuine ones. If you fit the Tall Handlebar Riser 55800854 you also need the 1.25-inch gauge clamp kit 55900228, which the riser listing asks for as a separate purchase. The Extended Reach forward controls, 50500840A, are made only for the Breakout and move the pegs three inches further forward.

2025 and 2026 bikes

The genuine list thins out at 2025: 93 parts stop at 2024, including 45 of the 47 hand grips. A 2025 or 2026 Breakout is listed for two genuine grips, the Kahuna 56100705 and 56100706, and lever kit 36700301. That is what Harley lists for the year, not proof an older part won’t go on, so pick your year above and see what shows.

Close relatives

The Fat Boy is the nearest thing in the parts book: 619 of the 639 genuine parts we list for the 2018-on Breakout also fit it, including the HoldFast sissy bar uprights and their docking kit, which fit only these two bikes. The 20 that don’t are the front end and the riding position: both Wind Splitter screens (57400334, 57400336), the 21-inch wheel, the Breakout pillion 52400225 and the forward controls. Going the other way, 526 of the 542 parts we list for the FXDR 114 fit a Breakout.
