Softail Standard parts: the FXST code is only half the answer

The Softail Standard returned with the Milwaukee-Eight 107 for 2020, using the FXST code already carried by much older Softails. That makes the year essential: a Sundowner seat listed for an FXST could be one of three different seats. This page covers those older bikes as well as the modern Standard, so choose your year before opening the two-up seats.

Those are seat-fitment ranges, not a continuous UK sales history. For the earlier years shown in the picker, check the individual listing; none of these seats is a recommendation for every FXST.

Keeping the modern bike's solo seat

Pillion 52400128 fits the original solo seat on the modern Standard and Street Bob. It needs passenger footpegs and support kit 50500769 in black or 50500771 in chrome. The supports do not include the pegs or their hardware. Start with the matching pillion and black footpeg supports, then choose the passenger pegs to complete it.

If you change the rider seat too, Sundowner 52000748 is the modern two-up option. The 2018-on Slim and 2018-on Deluxe use this same seat; their older namesakes do not.

A backrest needs more than the upright

Black HoldFast upright 52300446 requires docking kit 52300646, a passenger seat and footpegs. The pad is separate too: select a standard-height sissy bar and a compatible backrest pad, with the modern docking kit. Older H-D Detachables hardware is a different shopping list.

Moving the rider's feet forward

On the modern Standard, black forward-control kit 50700060 moves the controls 7.5 inches from the mid-control position and accepts the bike's suitable original footpegs.
