1200 Custom parts: start with the front end and tank

The 1200 Custom name covers both the earlier narrow-front bike and the wider-front version introduced in 2011. That change matters for screens and rider footpegs. The later bike's 17-litre tank also rules out some seats sold for other Sportsters. Choose the year above, then check the parts against the equipment on your bike.

The screen changes at 2011

Quick-Release Compact screen 58063-04 is listed for the earlier Custom, but its fitment excludes 2011-on XL1200C. It comes with its own clamps; adding separate docking hardware will not make it fit the later front end. Check the year range in windscreens.

Match the seat to the larger tank

On a standard 2011-on Custom, the tank is 4.5 US gallons. Reduced Reach seat 51737-07 is for smaller tanks, even though it appears in the model's results. For 2010-on bikes, Sundowner solo seat 52000203 accommodates any Sportster tank size; compare it in solo seats.

Add matching Sundowner pillion 52400121 for a passenger. If passenger pegs are missing, it also needs kit 50203-04 on 2010–2013 bikes or 50500270 from 2014. This solo seat does not accept rider backrest 52300245.

Rider pegs have their own fitment

Airflow pegs 50500435 exclude the rider position on 2011-on Customs, despite appearing in the model list. Brass forward-control pegs 50500482 explicitly list 2011–2018 XL1200C. Check the position as well as the year when choosing footpegs.

Allow for the UK saddlebag hardware

Rigid Leather Locking Saddlebags 90201321 need international indicator relocation kit 67800077 on 2011-on UK Customs. Rear axle covers rule these bags out; a side-mounted number plate additionally needs 73279-10. If you have H-D Detachables accessories, docking kit 53544-04 is required unless already fitted. Check the saddlebags and indicator relocation hardware together.
