The Touring Rack Options film compares several ways to carry luggage, with close-ups that make their different mounting positions clear. It starts with the Stealth H-D Detachables Two-Up rack, whose four bars follow the motorcycle's long lines, in gloss black and chrome. It also shows a conventional chrome H-D Detachables Two-Up rack. The product links here focus on the two Air Wing racks; the Stealth and conventional racks shown are separate products.
The Air Wing Tour-Pak Chrome Luggage Rack, 79179-08, mounts on the luggage-box lid. The film shows its bright chrome finish and engraved Harley-Davidson script on a Tour-Pak. Harley-Davidson specifies it for King, Chopped and Razor-Pak lids and supplies the mounting hardware with the rack. Its low-profile cast wing and steel structure add an elevated place for luggage and help protect the lid and passenger backrest from scratches. The Tour-Pak luggage box itself is separate. Check the lid and paint scheme: the rack's trim can cover pinstripes or two-tone paint lines.
The Air Wing H-D Detachables Two-Up Luggage Rack, 54283-09A, sits behind the seat on docking points instead. Its chrome finish, low profile and engraved rear wing give it a different outline from the four-bar Stealth rack. The manufacturer says it can be fitted or removed from the docking hardware in seconds and used with or without an H-D Detachables passenger backrest. The rack includes the hardware that attaches it to the required docking system; it does not include that complete docking system or a passenger backrest.
The film finishes with the separate four-point docking hardware: 52300353 in chrome and 52300354 in gloss black. These provide mounting points for compatible H-D Detachables accessories, allowing a suitable Touring setup to change between a backrest, rack or Tour-Pak arrangement as needs change. They are mounting kits, not luggage racks, and they are not the lid mounting hardware for 79179-08. Match the kit to the exact year, model and existing equipment; rigid Tour-Pak installations, some CVO applications and antenna arrangements can require additional conversion or relocation parts.
Both exact Air Wing racks have a manufacturer-stated load limit of 10 lb, approximately 4.5 kg. They are luggage supports, not seats, and that rack limit does not override the motorcycle's or Tour-Pak's own loading limits. Optional Air Wing lighting is sold separately; the detachable rack can conceal the appropriate wiring internally. Choose the correct light and any required harness for the rack and model year.
