Cross Bones: plan the whole passenger conversion

Turning a solo Cross Bones into a passenger bike takes more than a longer seat. The two replacement seats below fit the FLSTSB, but Harley specifies separate passenger footpeg mounts and pegs for both. Decide how much passenger seat you want first, then put the seat and the foot supports together.

Our Cross Bones catalogue covers 2008–2011. Both seats span those listed years; the difference here is the seating shape. These are complete replacement seats, not pads to add behind the original solo saddle. Compare the Sundowner and Badlander before choosing the rest of the kit.

What needs to go in the basket

Sundowner 51468-06A gives the rider a dished seating area and the passenger a broader section behind it. Badlander 51397-06A keeps the seat closer to the frame. Either includes its grab strap and seat mounting hardware.

For a Cross Bones still in solo trim, add passenger footpeg mount kit 50932-08. That supplies the black left and right brackets and their mounting hardware, but no pegs. Streamliner footpegs 50211-04 are one matching passenger option, sold as a pair, with black rubber and chrome trim. The pair is for the new passenger mounts; it does not replace your rider footboards. If the bike already has passenger supports, check what is fitted before ordering duplicates. Start with the mount kit and the Streamliner peg pair alongside your chosen seat.

The older Slim uses the same mount kit, so its guide is useful when comparing passenger fittings. Keep the seat choice tied to FLSTSB: sharing a bracket does not make every Slim seat suitable for the Cross Bones.

A comfort change when you are staying solo

If heat around the rear cylinder is the problem, mid-frame deflectors 29200008A redirect moving air away from the rider. The black pair includes mounting hardware and is listed across our 2008–2011 Cross Bones range. This addresses airflow around the rider rather than replacing the seat or adding passenger equipment. See the mid-frame deflector kit for that smaller change.
