Slim parts: seats and screens change with the generation

The earlier Slim and Slim S share a Sundowner seat, but the 2018-on Slim takes a different one. Its passenger mounts change too. Before turning a solo Slim into a bike for two, match the code and year below; buying a seat on the strength of the Slim name can leave you with the wrong mounting parts.

Adding a passenger to the earlier Slim

Sundowner 52000011 replaces the rider's seat with a two-up seat on the FLS and FLSS. It needs passenger footpeg mounting kit 50932-08 and separate passenger pegs. Put the seat and footpeg mounts on the same shopping list. The later Slim uses supports 50500769 or 50500771; those numbers are not a substitute for the earlier kit.

Keeping the original FLS seat brings another small trap: quick-release kits 51676-97A and 10500093 explicitly exclude the 2012–2017 Slim with that seat. Check the seat actually fitted before buying seat hardware, especially on a used bike whose saddle has already been changed.

A screen that suits the lamp arrangement

Nostalgic windshield 57140-05 fits the earlier Slim and Slim S with or without auxiliary lamps, and needs no extra mounting hardware. It does not work with Custom Auxiliary Lighting Kit 68000051. The same screen fits the 2005–2017 Deluxe; the modern Slim's screen is 57400335. Compare the windscreens against your lights as well as your model year.

Small luggage, with a clear left side

Black leather swingarm bag 90201567 straps to the left side. Its exclusions matter on a customised Slim: saddlebags, saddlebag guards, passenger footboards, rear axle covers, a left-hand toolbox or chrome swingarm covers rule it out.
