Deluxe parts: check the seat, rack and model code together

On the earlier Deluxe, a different seat can mean removing the original luggage rack. On the 2018-on bike, the seat itself belongs to another family. The Deluxe name also covers a CVO with different grip fitment, so the year alone is not enough. Match the code before comparing seats, screens or controls.

The 1993–1996 entries are earlier FLSTN models, not early examples of the 2005-on Deluxe. Keep those years selected for an older bike; the later parts below are not recommendations for it.

Keep the rider seat, or replace the pair?

For the 2005–2006 Deluxe, Sundowner 51764-06 is a two-up option, but H-D specifies removing the stock luggage rack. Decide whether you want to keep that rack before buying the replacement seat. The product name alone does not tell you this.

If the original solo seat stays, Deluxe pillion 52930-05 is listed for 2005–2017 FLSTN and requires passenger footpegs. Compare that matching pillion before replacing the rider's seat too. The modern FLDE uses Sundowner 52000748; do not carry the older seat recommendation across 2018.

The grip change comes before the new frame

Get-A-Grip 56100007 covers the non-CVO Deluxe through 2015; 56100015 covers its 2016–2017 years. The CVO already uses 56100015 in 2014–2015. Choose hand grips by code and year, especially when a seller describes a used set simply as “Softail grips”.

Screens and small luggage

Nostalgic windshield 57140-05 fits the 2005–2017 Deluxe and earlier Slim, with or without auxiliary lamps. No extra mounting hardware is required, but Custom Auxiliary Lighting Kit 68000051 is excluded. Check that lamp arrangement when choosing a windscreen.

Black leather swingarm bag 90201567 excludes the CVO Deluxe altogether. On other listed Deluxes it also rules out saddlebags, saddlebag guards, passenger footboards, axle covers, a left toolbox or chrome swingarm covers. Check the bike's fitted equipment before ordering a swingarm bag, or return to the all-models index for another code.
