Heritage Classic parts: which side of 2018 is your bike on

About 2,300 Heritages are taxed in the UK and another 1,800 are on SORN. Start with the year: the screen, the bags and everything behind the seat changed with the 2018 frame.

For 2022, 2023 and 2024 the catalogue lists the Heritage only as the 114, so those years are on the 114 page.

What crosses 2018, and what doesn’t

Across the two generations we list 1,054 genuine parts and 409 fit both. From a 2017 bike to a 2018 one, 61 per cent of the parts carry over; no other year step in the Heritage’s run drops below 80. Nothing that makes it a tourer crosses: no screen, no rack, no sissy bar, no docking kit, and of the seat parts only nuts, hardware, a rain cover and a pad. The 2018-on bike has two genuine windscreens, the King-Size Detachables 21-inch 57400328 and 18-inch 57400332; none of the older bike’s nine fits it.

Sissy bars, racks and the docking kit nobody mentions

The Heritage’s detachables are its own part numbers, not the Fat Boy’s. A 2018-on bike takes HoldFast uprights 52300442, 52300446 or the short 52300448, on docking kit 52300645 or 52300646. The upright listing says it “slips into position on the docking points” and never that the kit is a separate purchase, so order both. The Sport luggage rack, 50300124B or 50300125B, hangs off the upright, so choose the sissy bar first. A 1987–2017 bike takes sideplates 53815-00B on docking kit 53931-03A instead.

Things for the bags, not bags

The screen and the lockable bags come on the bike, so the genuine list sells things for the bags: guards 90201312 or 90201315, liners 93300107 cut for the original bags, and a Heritage Style Tour-Pak, 53000598, studded to match the seat and bags, on rack 50300174, 50300176 or the two-up 50300188. There is no genuine replacement saddlebag for the 2018-on bike, and no genuine solo seat: the two-up seats are nine genuine against 113 aftermarket, with a Heritage-styled Sundowner pillion, 52400171.

2025 and 2026 bikes

The genuine list changes at 2025: 103 parts stop at 2024 and 40 arrive. The three 7-inch Daymaker projector and adaptive headlamps, 67700427A, 67700430A and 67700433A, stop, as do all 45 hand grips of the 2016–2024 range. Pick your year above and see what shows.

Close relatives

The Softail Deluxe is the Heritage’s twin in the parts book: on 2018–2020, 661 of the Heritage’s 669 genuine parts fit it, and the eight that don’t include the bag guards, liners and pillion. Only the Heritage, the Deluxe and the Hydra-Glide Revival take the screens above. The Fat Boy shares 653 parts and lacks exactly the touring kit: 16 seat and backrest parts, 9 bag and rack parts, both screens. The Road King shares 448, and none of its 16 screens or 62 bag and rack parts.
