Softail Custom: check which side of the gap your bike sits

Our picker lists the Softail Custom for 1986 to 1999 and again for 2007 to 2010, with no years in between. Choose your year before you shop: we list 384 current genuine parts for a 1999 bike and 526 for a 2007, and only 355 are on both lists.

The later seats are Harley's '06-'15 FXSTC fitment. The earlier Sundowner 51764-06 and Badlander 52292-00A are '00-'05 parts, so neither covers a year our picker lists. Harley's sissy bar and rack lines cover Softails to '05 and name FL Softails only after that, so a 2007–2010 bike gets neither. On the earlier bikes, Harley's upright and rack lines both call for sideplates, and we list none for this model.

On a 2007–2010 bike, Harley makes headlamp vibration damper 67700059 a requirement when an LED headlamp is fitted. Of the 596 current parts on its list, 592 also appear for the Night Train and 593 for the Softail Standard. Front brake rotors such as 44360-00A fit the 2007–2010 bikes, but Harley's line reads "Softail (except Springer)", which is where the Springer Softail parts company.
