This outer cam drive gear kit from S&S Cycle is designed for riders looking to convert their 2006 Dyna or 2007–2017 Twin Cam engine to a gear-driven cam system. Gear drives eliminate the need for cam chain tensioners, providing more accurate valve timing and removing a common point of failure in the Twin Cam engine. This kit is intended for use with S&S gear-drive camshafts and includes the necessary outer gears for the installation. It fits Dyna, Softail, Touring, and Trike models equipped with the later-style roller chain drive. Please note that gear drives may produce slightly more valvetrain noise than chain drives, but they offer significantly increased reliability for high-performance builds. Professional installation with a hydraulic press is required to complete this upgrade.
