High-flow intakes like the Screamin’ Eagle Heavy Breather or Arlen Ness Method are the common Milwaukee-Eight picks. Whichever you choose, the intake only realises its gain paired with a freer exhaust and an ECM tune — fitting one on its own mostly just makes the bike louder on the intake side. If you fit only the intake and nothing else, the factory map can usually cope, but you leave the gains on the table. The point of a high-flow intake is as one third of Stage 1 — intake, exhaust and tune together — where the tune is what makes the extra airflow safe and useful.

Clearance varies by model. Big round designs like the Heavy Breather sit proud and can foul a rider’s knee or fairing lowers on some Touring bikes, while slimmer designs tuck in closer. Check the specific intake against your model before buying — or ask us, we fit these every week.
