Jims Retaining Rings

4 products — part of all Retaining Rings

Jims retaining rings are what professional Harley-Davidson workshop mechanics use when they need the count and tolerance to be exactly right — and on a transmission rebuild, they do. The 1980 to 2006 five-speed Big Twin application takes six rings; the 1991 to 2005 XL Sportster takes seven; the 2006 to 2022 XL Sportster and 2008 to 2012 XR1200 each take four. Mainshaft and countershaft bearing positions on 1999 to 2026 Big Twins are also covered, alongside the countershaft bearing on later Sportster and XR1200, the transmission door on 1980 to 1993 five-speed Big Twins, and the front wheel position on 1981 to 1982 FLT/Touring. Jims doesn't make commodity parts — the brand was founded by Jim Thiessen as a specialist Harley-Davidson tool and precision component supplier, and the retaining ring range carries the same engineering discipline as the rest of the catalogue. Iron City Motorcycles, an authorised Harley-Davidson dealer in Leeds, stocks Jims through Iron Stable. Browse the full Jims Retaining Rings range below.
