LED bulbs draw significantly less current than the incandescent bulbs the factory flasher relay is calibrated to detect — at LED current draw the relay interprets the circuit as a failed bulb and doubles its flash rate. An MCS load equalizer wires in parallel with the LED unit, adding the equivalent electrical resistance of the original bulb and restoring the correct flash cadence to both the indicator and the instrument cluster warning light.
