Replacing OEM 35773-89, this Andrews gear is a precision-made component for 1991 through 2005 Sportster 5-speed transmissions, including RS and tube frame models. Andrews uses high nickel alloy steel, which is then heat treated and shot-peened to ensure it can withstand the rigors of the road. The 5-speed Sportster box changed quite a bit over the years, but these gears are designed for maximum strength and compatibility. The machined lead-in ramps are a nice touch, as they help the drive dogs engage more smoothly, which reduces wear and makes for a much better feel at the shifter. It is a high-quality part for any serious transmission service.
