When your stock starter struggles to turn over a high-compression engine, these Denso OSGR-style high-torque starter motors from Zodiac are the perfect solution. Built entirely from new components to exacting standards, these starters feature hardened intermediate gears for long-term durability. They are available in 1.4 kW and 1.8 kW versions to replace the standard 1.2 kW units found on Big Twin models from 1989 to the present, including Dyna, FXR, Softail, and Touring bikes. This particular unit replaces OEM number 31553-90. The plain finish version includes a chrome solenoid cover and chrome thru-bolts for a clean look. With a lifetime warranty on the starter clutch when used with a stock engine, this is a reliable upgrade for any rider looking for more cranking power.
