Biltwell apparel sits where Harley-Davidson custom-build culture meets actual riding gear engineered to current safety standards. The Southern California company started in 2005 when Bill Bryant and Harold McGruther got tired of choosing between helmets that looked right on a Shovelhead chopper and helmets that would actually pass a regulatory test. The result was the Gringo full-face, the Bonanza three-quarter, and the Lane Splitter — three helmet shapes that lift their lines from 1970s vintage moulds and meet modern safety standards underneath. Around the helmet line, Biltwell has built a coherent range of leather and textile gloves, riding shirts, hoodies, and casual apparel finished in colours and graphics that work next to a custom Sportster, a slammed Softail, or a stripped Dyna. Nothing is sportbike-flavoured, and nothing is factory-issue either.
