S&S engine parts have been the answer to "how do I get more out of this Harley-Davidson" since George Smith and Stanley Stankos opened up shop in Wisconsin in 1958. The Viola-based company makes hot rods out of V-twins. Their Super Stock heads, Stealth air cleaners, and benchmark camshaft grinds have set the baseline for how a tuner thinks about a Twin Cam or a Milwaukee-Eight. Beyond the bolt-on world, S&S casts complete crate engines and machines its own crankshafts, connecting rods, pistons, and oil pumps, which is why a serious Sportster Evo build or a stretched-bagger M8 stroker so often ends up wearing an S&S badge somewhere visible.
