About This Product
This Samwel aluminum cylinder head set is a performance-minded upgrade for the 45" WL Flathead. Sold as a pair, these heads feature a 1:6 high compression ratio designed to wake up your sidevalve engine. While they fit all WL models from 1937 to 1973, they are an authentic OEM replacement for the 1937 to 1941 WLDR racer. To get the most out of this setup, we recommend combining them with large diameter intake valves and a WLDR camshaft set. These heads replace OEM numbers 16681-39, 16683-39, 9-39, and 10-39, offering a significant boost in efficiency and power for your vintage racer or street-ridden flathead.
