When rebuilding a vintage Flathead or Big Twin motor, sometimes you only need to replace the shaft if the cam lobes are still within tolerance. This Samwel replacement shaft is for the rear exhaust position and serves as the pump drive. It is a precise replacement for worn-out shafts on 1937 to 1973 45-inch WL and WLDR models, as well as 1937 to 1948 74-inch U and UL, and 80-inch UH and ULH models. Using a fresh shaft can help eliminate play in the timing chest and ensure your oil pump drive remains reliable, extending the life of your classic engine valve train.
