About This Product
James Gaskets oil seal for the transmission main drive gear, or 4th gear, on late 1966 to early 1981 4-speed Big Twin models. The metal outer diameter gives a proper press-fit in the bore. It seals the main drive gear area and stops transmission fluid from running into the primary and contaminating the clutch plates. A leak here will slip the clutch and make a mess. Watch for a worn groove on the gear where the seal lip runs. Replaces OEM 12022. Sold as a pack of five.
