When it comes to stopping leaks, James Gaskets is the name mechanics trust. This single-lip transmission mainshaft oil seal features a rubber outer diameter for a superior seal against the case. It is designed as a direct replacement for OEM part number 12044A and fits 5-speed 1980 to early 1984 Touring and FXR models. Interestingly, this seal is also the correct fit for Sputhe 5-into-4 transmission conversions. If you are pulling your primary or refreshing your gearbox, replacing this seal is cheap insurance against future oil spots on the garage floor. It is built to handle the heat and vibration of early 5-speed drivetrains.
