About This Product
Andrews' C-ratio fourth gear set fits late 1984–1990 XL Sportster four-speed transmissions. The set includes an 18-tooth fourth-gear mainshaft and 26-tooth fourth-gear countershaft, replacing the stock 17/27-tooth ratio used on late 1984–1986 models. This swap provides higher RPM in top gear for tighter, more close-ratio shifting. Note that 1987–1990 XL models already use the 26/18 ratio as standard. All components are manufactured in the USA from high-alloy nickel steel, ground to precise dimensions, and heat-treated and shot-peened for strength and long service life.
