About This Product
This Barnett clutch steel backing plate is a heavy-duty replacement for 1952 to 1956 K and KH models, as well as 1957 to 1970 XL Sportsters. At .089 inches thick, this plate provides the necessary rigidity at the back of the clutch pack to ensure consistent pressure. Only one is used per bike. It is an OEM-style replacement for part number 38016-57. When you are rebuilding an early Sportster clutch, using a fresh backing plate helps eliminate uneven wear and ensures your clutch engagement stays smooth and predictable throughout the rev range.
