About This Product

This MCS pinion shaft bushing is a standard-size steel replacement for the crankcase. It fits 1940 to 1948 74-inch and 80-inch Flathead models. The bushing replaces OEM 24595-40. It presses into the crankcase and gives the pinion shaft a stable running surface. Fit this during any engine overhaul on these vintage side-valve motors. A worn bushing leaks oil pressure and shifts pinion shaft alignment. That affects the whole primary drive line. This part sorts that.

Manufacturer part number: 518131.
