About This Product
Paughco petcock adapter nut steps a 3/8-inch NPT tank bung down to 1/4-inch NPT. It fits 1957 to 1974 models with internal-threaded tanks. You need this when you are fitting a modern 1/4-inch petcock to an early tank. Do not force it. The threads are tapered and will crack the bung if you cross-thread them. Use thread sealant sparingly. It is a simple fix for a common problem on early Sportsters and Big Twins.
