This S&S 88-inch (1436cc) big bore cylinder and piston kit is a fantastic way to wake up a Shovelhead without sacrificing reliability. Sold as a kit, it fits all 1979–1984 stock 1340cc Shovelheads and can be used on 1966–1978 1200cc models if they have been upgraded with 4-1/4 inch stroke flywheels. You get gloss black 3-5/8 inch big bore cylinders, forged pistons, rings, and all the necessary hardware. With a moderate 7.75:1 compression ratio, this setup offers a significant power boost while ensuring a long engine life. Please note that your crankcase spigots must be bored to accept the larger 3-5/8 inch cylinders. It’s a proven combination for riders who want more torque for the long haul.
