About This Product
This MCS pinion shaft bearing retainer is an essential component for the right-side crankcase on vintage Harley-Davidson engines. It is a direct replacement for OEM part number 24718-54 and is designed to fit 1954 to 1976 Sportster models as well as 1955 to 1957 Big Twin models. This part is the roller bearing cage only, providing the necessary spacing and alignment for the pinion shaft rollers. Please note that loose oversize rollers must be purchased separately to complete the assembly. When rebuilding these classic bottom ends, using a fresh retainer ensures that the bearing assembly remains stable, preventing premature wear on the pinion shaft and crankcase races.
