Restoring an early Ironhead or a KH model requires parts that match the original geometry perfectly. This MCS bushing is designed for the 1st gear on the transmission countershaft. It fits 1954 to 1956 KH models as well as 1957 to early 1972 XL Sportsters. As a direct replacement for OEM 35787-52, this bushing provides the necessary bearing surface for the first gear to spin freely and stay aligned. Over time, these bushings can wear thin, leading to sloppy shifting and gear noise. Installing this fresh bushing during a rebuild helps restore that tight, mechanical feel to your vintage Sportster's gearbox.
