Paughco offers this black tin inner primary for custom applications where a vintage look is required on 1965 to 1969 Big Twins. This housing is designed to replace the stock aluminum inner primary and features a depth that is approximately 3/16-inch deeper than the earlier 1955-1964 style covers where it mounts to the crankcase. It is intended for kickstart-only setups and requires the use of a steel outer primary cover compatible with the compensating sprocket. As with many custom primary setups, you might find that some spacing is necessary between the crankcase and the cover to ensure everything lines up correctly. It is a rugged, period-correct solution for early Shovelhead and Panhead custom projects.
