This Transpo solid-state voltage regulator is a modern upgrade for vintage charging systems. Unlike old mechanical regulators that can be finicky and prone to failure, this is a fully electronic, 12-volt unit designed for models running a 12-volt generator. It fits 1965 through 1969 Big Twin and 1965 through 1977 XL Sportster models. Installation is straightforward with clearly defined wiring: the red wire goes to the armature, the green wire to the field, and the black wire connects to the battery. This regulator provides much more stable charging performance, which is essential for preserving the life of your battery and ensuring your lights stay bright on the road.
