The BDL Shorty Drive 2-inch polished open belt drive kit is designed for minimalist custom builds on 1970 to 1978 Shovelhead models fitted with a ratchet-top four-speed transmission and rear chain drive only. The kit includes a rear pulley plate with starter housing, rear pulley with BDL Balls lock-up clutch, starter gear cover, rear pulley cover, front pulley, and belt. Modifications are required: on FX models the oil tank bracket must be cut for starter clearance; on FL models this is not necessary. A late 1979 to 1986 clutch arm (OEM 37054-79A) must be used on both FL and FX. A 1989 to 1993 starter motor of stock dimensions is compatible.
