About This Product
BDL side plate for 3-inch electric start open drives on Shovelhead models. This replaces the original plate on 1970 through 1978 Shovelheads running the BDL 3-inch open belt drive system. It is polished aluminium. Check the threads for damage and the sealing surface for scoring when swapping it over. The plate locates the motor sprocket bearing and seals the primary from road dirt. Do not overtorque the fixing bolts into the soft aluminium threads.
