About This Product
This Bender Cycle compensating sprocket shaft nut replaces OEM 40392-70. It fits 1970-1990 Big Twin models including FX, FXR, Softail and Touring. The nut clamps the sliding cam and sprocket assembly against the spring plates in the primary. Torque it properly during a primary service or rebuild. A fresh nut maintains correct clamping load and keeps the compensator from rattling. Do not reuse the old one if the threads or seat are worn.
