About This Product
These are replacement piston ring supports from KB Keith Black. They fit pistons where the ring grooves intersect the piston pin hole. They do not seal. They hold the rings in place so the pack stays supported. Most KB pistons include these from the factory. Order these if you have lost or damaged one during a teardown. They fit Sportster and XB models with compatible KB pistons. You can repair the top end without replacing the entire piston assembly.
Manufacturer's description
A limited number of KB pistons have the ring grooves crossing the piston pin hole. In order to have the piston rings properly supported these pistons come with piston ring support rings. As support rings do not have a sealing function they do not have to be replaced when you install new piston rings, but sometimes new ones are needed because a ring is lost or broken.
