This Prestolite style starter motor is a high-quality reproduction of the original long type unit used on many classic Harleys. It is completely assembled from new parts and fits a variety of Big Twin, FXR, Sportster, and Touring models. It is a direct replacement for OEM 31458-66TA. When ordering, it is vital to confirm you have a Prestolite system rather than a Hitachi, as the parts are not interchangeable. A Prestolite starter is typically 70mm in diameter with a 173mm housing length and uses 1/4-20 UNC thru-bolts. This reproduction ensures your vintage machine gets the reliable starting power it needs while maintaining the correct factory appearance and fitment.
