Kibblewhite valve spring spacing shims bring valve springs to the correct installed height. You need them whenever the spring seat or retainer position has changed. Measure the stack and add shims until the spring sits at the proper height. Wrong height costs power and can damage the valvetrain. Verify the installed height on both heads before final assembly.
