About This Product
This V-Twin single-phase 45-amp alternator stator replaces OEM 29987-97. It fits 1997-1998 Touring models. The stator sits in the primary and generates the charge for the battery. Stators usually fail from heat and vibration. Check your rotor and regulator while you are in there; a burnt stator often damages both. This is a stock replacement, not a higher-output unit. Fit it, set the primary chain tension, and ride.
