This American Prime Manufacturing mechanical advance unit is engineered to provide a smoother idle and consistent throttle response for Harley-Davidson motorcycles running points or specific electronic ignition systems like the Dyna S and Daytona TwinTec VT-I. The assembly features a stainless steel shaft and plate machined to exact tolerances for reliable operation. The weights are heat-treated and finished with a polymer coating to reduce friction, secured by stainless steel pins. The springs are crafted from phosphate-coated, tempered music wire and white-plated for long-term durability. This unit replaces worn mechanical advance components to ensure precise timing advancement. Note that the cam is not included with this assembly.
