The original plastic tappet guides on Sportster models are a known weak point, as they can allow the tappets to rotate under heavy stress. These S&S hard-anodized billet aluminum tappet cuffs are a massive upgrade, keeping your tappets perfectly aligned even in high-RPM or high-stress situations. They fit all 2006 to 2022 Evolution Sportster models, including the XR1200. Replacing OEM 18505-06, these cuffs capture the tappets securely without interfering with their vertical travel. It is a small but vital piece of insurance for your engine's valvetrain, especially if you have upgraded to a more aggressive camshaft. Always check your clearances during installation to ensure perfect operation.
