What happened
Oxford Harley-Davidson Has Closed
Oxford Harley-Davidson shut its doors on 15 January 2025, after thirty years selling and servicing Harleys in Oxfordshire. The dealership opened in 1995, moved to its final home at Nuffield Way in Abingdon in 2017, and traded right up to the announcement. This was not an administration in the Plymouth-and-Southampton sense — the parent, Blade Motor Cycles Limited, decided to centralise its Harley-Davidson business onto its remaining branch in Cheltenham, and pulled the franchise from Abingdon as part of that move.
The wider story is bleaker. By April 2025 the UK Harley-Davidson dealer network had shed seven franchises in eighteen months — Norwich, Reading, Watford, the two Marsh shops on the south coast, Oxford, and Edinburgh's announced exit. That is a real chunk of the national network gone in under two years, and it leaves a gap right across the Thames Valley, into the Cotswolds and up through north Oxfordshire.
Please note: Iron Stable is a separate, independent online retailer. We are not affiliated with the former Oxford Harley-Davidson dealership, with Blade Motor Cycles Limited or with its parent the Heritage Automotive Group, and we are not a continuation of that business. Blade is still very much trading; anything to do with warranty work or finance taken out at the Abingdon showroom sits with their surviving operation, not with us. We built this page so riders searching for the closed showroom land somewhere useful instead of a dead link.
For the record
The Dealership at Nuffield Way
For three decades, Oxford Harley-Davidson was the only authorised Harley franchise inside the OX postcode area. From 2017 it ran out of Nuffield Way on the industrial side of Abingdon — a short ride south of Oxford, just off the A34, and an easy run for riders coming in from Witney, Bicester, Didcot or down off the Chilterns. Sales, servicing, MOTs, clothing, a parts counter, and a workshop that knew the regulars' bikes on sight.
It traded as Oxford Harley-Davidson, but the legal entity was Blade Motor Cycles Limited (Companies House 04660284), owned today by the Heritage Automotive Group. Blade itself is still in business — its other Harley-Davidson dealership over in Gloucestershire continues to trade. What ended in January 2025 was the Abingdon side of that operation, and with it the only authorised HD counter inside the OX area.
What has not changed is the bike in your garage. Genuine Harley-Davidson parts and good aftermarket alternatives are still made and still sold — they just arrive by courier now, rather than off the rack at Nuffield Way.
How we help
Parts for Oxfordshire Riders
Iron Stable stocks 105,476+ Harley-Davidson parts and accessories — genuine OEM and aftermarket together. Every line carries a real price and published fitment data, so you can be sure a part suits your bike before it goes near the basket.
Fast UK delivery
Most in-stock orders leave the same or next working day on a tracked courier. For a rider in Oxford or Abingdon, that means the part on your doorstep inside two or three days — almost always quicker than the old round trip down the A34 and back. Delivery is free once your order clears our threshold, and we reach every OX postcode plus the neighbouring SN, GL, NN and RG codes.
Genuine or aftermarket — your call
On most jobs you have a real choice: the Harley-Davidson part, or a quality aftermarket equivalent that does the same work for less. We stock both and label them honestly. Oxfordshire is not the salt-air south coast, but grit-salted B-roads and standing water on the lanes still take their toll on fasteners, brake hardware and chrome — so it pays to spend where corrosion bites and save where it does not.
Customise your ride
Build It Your Way
This is what a good dealer used to be for: turning a stock bike into yours. With the Abingdon counter gone, that does not stop — it moves online, and the choice gets wider.
Performance & engine
Exhaust systems and slip-ons, air intake kits and engine parts — from a first Stage 1 breathe-and-tune to a proper big-inch rebuild. Vance & Hines and S&S Cycle exhausts, plus Screamin' Eagle tuning kit, all in stock. New to the idea? Start with the bike customiser.
Style, comfort & the unglamorous stuff
Bars and controls, seats and luggage for the longer Cotswold runs, bodywork and finishing parts — alongside the brakes and lighting that quietly get a bike through its MOT and keep it predictable on a wet A40 in February.
Find what actually fits
Quickest route to the right part: the Part Finder — year, model, family. Or start from the bike itself and browse parts organised by Harley-Davidson model.
If you rode with Oxford H-D
For Former Oxford Customers
A dealership closing is never just a shop closing. It is the staff who recognised your bike on sight, the parts counter you could phone with a number and trust the answer, the certainty that an MOT and a second opinion sat a short ride away. We are not going to pretend an online shop replaces that. It does not.
What we can do is keep the practical side simple. If Oxford Harley-Davidson serviced your bike, every service item, consumable and OEM-equivalent part you used to collect from the counter at Nuffield Way is still available here — delivered from the centre of Oxford out to Witney and the Cotswold-edge villages, north to Banbury, south to Wallingford and across the Vale of White Horse.
Got a question the parts desk would once have fielded? Drop us a line. And if you put proper miles in through the season, an Iron Pass at £25 a year tends to pay for itself fast once member pricing lands on every order.

Across the county
Riding Oxfordshire
For everything that has gone wrong with the franchised network, Oxfordshire is still a properly good place to keep a Harley. The A40 west of Oxford takes you out through Burford and up onto the Cotswold escarpment — Stow, the Slaughters, Bourton — and the back-lanes through the Windrush valley are quieter, twistier and, on the right Sunday, almost empty.
North, the A4260 to Banbury joins the Edge Hill and Warwickshire-border roads. South, the A4074 from Henley up to Wallingford threads the Chiltern beechwoods. The loop round Otmoor and out through Bicester is a good half-day, with no shortage of decent biker pubs along the way.
The catch, as anyone who has put a winter on a Harley here knows, is grit-salted lanes and frost pockets in the Vale of White Horse. Worth keeping the consumables drawer stocked and a soft brush by the chrome — and getting brake or suspension work done before the weather turns. We can help with the first two; the third is on you.

Common questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Which Harley-Davidson dealers around Oxford have closed?
Oxford Harley-Davidson is the one most Thames Valley and Cotswold riders are asking about. It traded for thirty years — opened in 1995, relocated to its final home on Nuffield Way in Abingdon in 2017, and stopped trading on 15 January 2025 when its parent, Blade Motor Cycles Limited, consolidated its Harley franchises onto its Cheltenham branch. Unlike the two south-coast closures the autumn before — Plymouth and Southampton Harley-Davidson, both of which went down when Marsh Holdings Ltd entered administration — this one was a commercial decision by a group still very much in business. The wider context is bleak either way. By the spring of 2025 the UK Harley-Davidson dealer network had shed seven franchises in eighteen months: Norwich went first in January 2024, then Reading in September, Watford converted to Ducati in October, the two Marsh shops in November, Oxford in January 2025, and Edinburgh's announced exit for the end of April. If you ride a Harley out of Oxford, Abingdon, Witney or Banbury, you are now a longer trip from a franchised counter than at any point since the late nineties.
Can I still get Harley-Davidson parts in Oxfordshire?
Yes. Iron Stable carries tens of thousands of genuine and aftermarket parts, and ships everywhere a UK courier reaches — every OX postcode in Oxfordshire included, plus the neighbouring SN, GL, NN and CV codes when you stray out for a Sunday ride. Most in-stock orders leave the same or next working day, so the part is on your doorstep inside two or three days.
Do you deliver to Oxford, Abingdon and the Thames Valley?
All the way across. We cover Oxford, Abingdon and Witney, north to Bicester, Banbury and Kidlington, west to Burford and the Cotswold edge, south through Didcot and Wallingford, and east to Thame and Henley-on-Thames. UK delivery is free once your order clears our basket threshold, and tracked below it. If a part turns up that is not right for the bike — wrong year, wrong family, a fastener that does not quite line up — sending it back is straightforward and we are not precious about the paperwork.
Is Iron Stable connected to the former Oxford Harley-Davidson or Blade Group?
No, and we should be clear about it. Iron Stable is a separate, independent online retailer. We are not affiliated with the former Oxford Harley-Davidson dealership, with Blade Motor Cycles Limited (the trading entity, Companies House number 04660284), or with its parent the Heritage Automotive Group, and we are not a continuation of that business. Blade itself is still very much trading — its remaining Harley-Davidson franchise sits over in Gloucestershire, and customers with outstanding Oxford orders at the time of the closure were transferred there directly by Blade. Anything to do with warranty work, finance taken out at the Abingdon showroom or H.O.G. chapter affairs sits with Blade's surviving operation, not with us. What we do is narrower: we sell parts and accessories at competitive prices, ship them by courier the next working day where stock allows, and have built this page so riders searching for the closed Abingdon showroom land somewhere useful instead of a dead link.
What Harley-Davidson models do you supply parts for?
Pretty much all of them. The modern line-up is covered end-to-end — Touring bikes like the Road Glide, Street Glide and Road King, the Softail family from the Fat Boy and Heritage Classic through to the Low Rider and Breakout, the Sportster and Nightster, the older Dyna models, and the CVO range — and stock runs reasonably deep for bikes well into their second decade too. The honest catch is fitment. A part for a 2009 Touring frame is rarely a part for a 2020 one, and Milwaukee-Eight, Twin Cam and Evo are not interchangeable for a lot of jobs. Quickest route to the right thing: run your bike through the Part Finder by year, model and family, and you will only see what actually bolts on. If something is borderline — a part number that has been superseded, an OEM cross-reference you want a second opinion on — drop us a line. Real people, not a script.
