This yellow-coded pinion shaft gear kit from S&S is essential for precise engine timing on 1954 to 1965 Panheads and 1966 to early 1977 Shovelheads. The yellow color indicates it is one step larger than the brown gear, allowing mechanics to achieve the perfect gear lash. This kit is a complete solution for scratch builds or total rebuilds and should be used with a 1973 to 1999 style oil pump driven gear, matching OEM 26345-73. Using this kit in earlier 1954 to 1972 engines can also help increase oil pump RPM by 25% for better lubrication. Sold as a kit, it includes all necessary pinion shaft components.
