About This Product
The Andrews 1-grind camshaft provides 0.427-inch valve lift and is the low-compression version of the popular A cam, designed for 1970–early 1977 Shovelhead engines running low-compression pistons at 8:1 or below. The reduced duration is specifically tailored to improve performance when compression is limited, ensuring the engine makes the most of every combustion cycle. If your early Shovelhead runs lower-compression pistons — whether for reliability, fuel quality, or as part of a touring build — this cam extracts more performance than the standard A-grind would in that configuration.
