About This Product
Andrews' C-ratio fourth gear set fits late 1979–early 1984 XL Sportster generator models. It includes an 18-tooth fourth-gear mainshaft and 26-tooth fourth-gear countershaft, replacing the stock 27/17-tooth ratio to provide higher RPM in top gear and more close-ratio shifting. This is specifically configured for generator-equipped Sportsters of this era. All gears are manufactured in the USA from high-alloy nickel steel, ground to precise dimensions, heat-treated and shot-peened for strength and durability. A proven upgrade for riders who want tighter gear spacing in their Sportster's four-speed box.
