About This Product
This JIMS gear serves as both the 3rd gear on the mainshaft and the 2nd gear on the countershaft for 5-speed Big Twin models. It fits a wide range of models from 1980 to 2006, excluding the 2006 6-speed Dyna. This part is an OEM style replacement for part numbers 35027-79A and 35027-79B. As a non high-contact gear, it is important to remember that it will not fit 1995 to 2006 models unless the corresponding gear is also replaced. Because two of these gears are typically used in the transmission, they are a staple for any comprehensive 5-speed gearbox overhaul, providing the strength and precision machining JIMS is famous for.
