These James Gaskets retaining rings are essential for any 39mm fork service. Designed to sit inside the fork slider just above the seal, these rings act as a stopper to keep the fork seal securely in place during operation. They are a direct replacement for OEM part number 45905-87. This pack fits a wide range of models, including 1987 through 1994 FXR models, 1991 through 2005 Dyna models (excluding Wide Glides), and 1988 through 2022 XL Sportsters (excluding specific late-model Forty-Eight and Roadster variants). Sold as a pack of six, these are great to have on hand for fork rebuilds. Replacing these rings ensures that your fork seals stay seated correctly, preventing leaks and maintaining the performance of your front suspension.
