This is an MCS cast replacement piston for 1972-1985 XL1000 Sportster. This is forty thou oversize for barrels that need a moderate overbore to restore sealing. Standard 9:1 compression ratio. Wristpin and clips included. Rings sold separately. Cast construction gives predictable thermal expansion and good dimensional stability. Check piston-to-wall clearance during assembly. Professional installation is recommended, and your mechanic must verify compatibility with existing components before fitting. Follow standard break-in procedures to seat the rings.
