This MCS idler gear bushing is a vital replacement part for maintaining the timing gear train on Ironhead Sportsters. It fits 1957 to early 1984 XL Sportster models and serves as a direct replacement for OEM 25597-57. These bushings are subject to constant wear as the idler gear spins, and excessive play can lead to noisy operation or even gear damage. Typically, two of these are used in the assembly.
