About This Product
Maintaining proper chain tension is vital for the longevity of your Twin Cam engine, and this MCS outer cam chain tensioner is the perfect OEM-style replacement. It is designed for the primary, or outer, cam chain drive on early Twin Cam models equipped with spring-loaded tensioners. This part fits 1999 to 2006 Twin Cam models, with the exception of the 2006 Dyna. It is a direct replacement for OEM 39954-99A and 921172. Regular inspection and replacement of these tensioners can prevent serious engine damage caused by worn pads. For a complete service, you should also check the secondary inner tensioner during installation.
