About This Product
This is the MCS alternator rotor and clutch shell assembly with primary chain sprocket. It replaces Harley-Davidson OEM 36791-84 and 36799-84. The magnets sit in a stainless steel shell so they do not detach like the originals. The assembly includes the ball bearing for direct fitment. It fits L1984–1990 4-speed XL Sportster models. Note that replacement clutch hub ball bearing 556626/36799-84 is sold separately. Harley-Davidson moved this design to the sprocket shaft in 1991 to cure clearance issues.
