About This Product
This OEM-style alternator rotor and clutch shell assembly with primary chain sprocket solves the common problem of loose magnets found in original equipment. Magnets are encapsulated in a stainless steel shell to prevent detachment, a frequent failure point with OEM units. The complete assembly includes the ball bearing for direct installation. Replaces Harley-Davidson OEM parts 36791-84 and 36799-84. Note that replacement clutch hub ball bearing is separately available as 556626/36799-84. Fits L1984–1990 4-speed XL Sportster models. This design was moved to the sprocket shaft in 1991 to address clearance issues—see catalog for technical details.
