This MCS primary chain adjuster kit replaces OEM 39970-91. It fits 1991 to 2003 XL Sportster models. The kit includes the shoe and hardware to restore correct primary chain tension. Over time the original shoe wears and the hardware fatigues. That causes chain slap and noise in the primary. Fit this kit during your next primary service.
